How is MOTS-C 20mg used in research?
MOTS-c is a mitochondrial-derived peptide of 16 amino acids encoded within the mitochondrial 12S rRNA region. In preclinical research models it is studied as a regulator of cellular energy metabolism and is reported to translocate to the nucleus under metabolic stress to influence gene expression. Research indicates that MOTS-c is associated with activation of the AMPK pathway, a central sensor of cellular energy balance. It is investigated as a potential modulator of metabolic homeostasis and insulin sensitivity in laboratory settings.
Research reports that MOTS-c activates the AMPK signaling pathway and modulates metabolic flux in animal and cellular research models. Preclinical studies have investigated its association with glucose regulation, enhanced insulin sensitivity, and resistance to diet-induced metabolic changes in rodent models. It has also been studied for its reported influence on exercise capacity and cellular stress responses. Recommended ratio
Reconstitute the 20 mg vial with 2 mL of bacteriostatic water to yield a concentration of 10 mg/mL.
- Disinfect the rubber stopper with an alcohol swab and allow it to dry.
- Inject the bacteriostatic water slowly down the inner wall of the vial rather than directly onto the lyophilized powder.
- Swirl the vial gently until the solution is clear and never shake; allow approximately 10 minutes for complete reconstitution.

Store refrigerated at 2-8C, protected from light. The lyophilized powder is stable for approximately 24 months. For long-term storage, keep at -20C.
