Research use only (RUO) is a designation indicating that a product is intended solely for laboratory research and is not for use in diagnostic, therapeutic, or other clinical applications in humans or animals. Materials labeled RUO have not been evaluated or approved for medical use and are supplied only for controlled scientific investigation.
