Kinase

A kinase is an enzyme that catalyzes the transfer of a phosphate group from ATP to a substrate molecule, a modification known as phosphorylation. In biochemical research, kinases are studied as central regulators of the intracellular signaling cascades engaged by many peptide receptors.
